Welcome to the City of Boston’s Rental Registration Portal. Here you can register a rental property for the first time, renew existing registrations, or close a registration if you sell a property. Please read the instructions on each page carefully.

If you are new to our system, please create an online account. If you are having trouble logging in to an existing account, please do not create a new one. Instead, give us a call at 617-635-1010. We would be happy to assist you.

If you are unable to view an existing registration when you log in to your account, give us a call at 617-635-1010. This usually just means that the registration has not been associated with your online account in our database. We will be happy to add your records to your account and get you on your way.

Notice for Owner-Occupied Multi-Family Homes:
Disregard Inspection Letter. If you rent out units in an owner-occupied multifamily home with 6 units or fewer, you might have received an inspection notice in error. Please disregard. Some properties with this exemption status were mistakenly included in ISD's recent mailing. We apologize for the confusion.

Please note, for registrations of 10 or more units online payment is mandatory. You can make online payments using your checking account.
